A King James Bible food journey
Exploring what the Bible says about food—one meal at a time.
Join me as I study biblical foods, prepare Scripture-inspired recipes,
examine clean and unclean foods, and learn how ancient wisdom can shape
the way we shop, cook, garden, and eat today.
Not a perfect diet. Not another trend. A sincere journey through Scripture.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do,
do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 — King James Version
Welcome to Wattalife
I am learning to eat with greater intention—and taking the Bible with me.
I did not begin this journey because I had every answer. I began because
I wanted to understand what Scripture actually says about food.
What foods were given in Genesis? What did people eat in biblical times?
What do Leviticus and Deuteronomy say about clean and unclean animals?
What can Daniel’s food choices teach us about conviction, simplicity,
and self-control?
Wattalife documents that exploration through King James Bible studies,
biblical food lists, ancient-inspired recipes, grocery experiments,
gardening, fasting, feasts, and honest reflections from my own kitchen.
Biblical references are studied in context, and health decisions should
be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.
What we explore
Scripture, food, history, and everyday practice
Each part of Wattalife begins with a question, returns to the biblical
text, and brings what I learn into a real modern kitchen.

The journey begins here
What does “eating according to the Bible” actually mean?
For me, it begins by reading before assuming. It means separating
what Scripture explicitly says from modern claims made in its name.
- Reading each food passage in its biblical and historical context
- Identifying foods genuinely named or described in the KJV
- Studying clean and unclean food passages without hiding disagreement
- Recreating practical meals with biblical ingredients
- Considering gratitude, moderation, hospitality, fasting, and stewardship
- Documenting results honestly instead of promising miracle outcomes

Common questions
Before you begin
Biblical eating can mean different things to different people.
These answers explain how Wattalife approaches the subject.
Is there one specific “Bible diet”?
Scripture contains food instructions, examples, laws, feasts,
fasting accounts, agricultural practices, and broader principles.
Christians interpret how these passages apply today differently.
Wattalife studies those passages rather than claiming one modern
commercial diet is the only biblical approach.
Does Wattalife use the King James Version?
Yes. Biblical quotations and primary Scripture references on this
website use the King James Version. Historical and cultural research
may also draw from dictionaries, scholarship, archaeology, and other
reference materials.
Are the recipes historically exact?
Some recipes are historical reconstructions, while others are modern
recipes inspired by foods named in Scripture. Each recipe should be
clearly labeled so readers know which type they are preparing.
Does biblical eating guarantee better health?
No responsible website can guarantee that. Food needs vary according
to medical conditions, allergies, medications, age, and individual
circumstances. Wattalife shares a personal and educational journey,
not treatment or medical advice.
Where should I start?
